A Software Developer / Software Engineer (PHP / Symfony) is needed to join the CMS Engineering team for one of the world’s largest media groups. Based in London (EC1) you’ll work on mission critical software that plays an integral role in the publication of content which reaches millions of users globally.

This is a unique opportunity for a Software Developer / Software Engineer (PHP / Symfony) to join their CMS Engineering team who use the following technology stack: PHP-Symfony, JS, CSS, MySQL, Solr, Ionic Framework, Angular, Python, Google Cloud, AWS and other tools.

Joining as a Software Developer / Software Engineer (PHP / Symfony) you will form part of a dynamic team working alongside other engineers designing, estimating and executing new product initiatives for their central CMS platform.  The CMS platform is used to publish news, reviews, blogs, videos, images and other types of content.  Collaborating with product, QA, and project managers you should be capable of delivery first class code capable of passing strict testing criteria (unit and automated function tests will be created to test code within a set test framework).

To qualify… You should be a Software Engineer / Software Developer / PHP Developer / PHP Software Developer / PHP Software Engineer or similar with core skills covering:

  • PHP and the Symfony Framework;
  • JMS Queues;
  • 3rd party APIs;
  • Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS;
  • Designing and delivering modern applications and services with DevOps model;
  • Linux servers and troubleshooting.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) is advantageous as is exposure to Kubernetes and Jenkins; Video encoding; “infrastructure as code” systems such as Terraform or deploying applications using Docker containers.
