An Operations Technician / Workshop Supervisor is needed to join a fast growing tech start up that is revolutionising the transport industry. Working from their warehouse in Milton Keynes expect to help set up and manage their first workshop assembling and testing sensors.
Creating cameras with on-board video analytics capabilities, this ground-breaking firm gather real-time information to quantify the movement of pedestrians, vehicles and cyclists, from making traffic lights more intelligent to assisting rail operators in predicting queues in their rail stations. Currently rolling out thousands of cameras across the UK, they are now seeking an Operations Technician / Workshop Supervisor to join their talented team and benefit from flexible working policies, the opportunity to influence and adapt your role as the business grows, and a choice of equity options.
Joining as the first member of their manufacturing team, the Operation Technician / Workshop Supervisor will work closely with the CTO, Head of Operations and Project Managers to set up a new workshop and manage staff assembling and testing sensors.
In more detail the Operations Technician / Workshop Supervisor role will include:
- Setting up and managing the workshop;
- Managing stock levels;
- Sensor assembly;
- Management, support and training of sensor assembly staff;
- Building and testing of new prototype hardware solutions;
- Prototyping new hardware solutions;
- Some onsite support of sensor installation.

To qualify… You should be an Operations Technician / Workshop Supervisor / Production Supervisor / Production Manager / Assembly Manager / Line Manager or similar with a CV that demonstrates:
- Hands on experience with electrical hardware, computers and mechanical assembly;
- The initiative to work with a high degree of autonomy;
- A drive for precision and accuracy in work;
- The ability to thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
One or more of the following would be advantageous: team leadership experience; experience working in a workshop environment; First Aid qualifications; workshop / line management training; health and safety training; quality management experience.
