A talented CAD Technician / CAD Designer is needed to join a specialist design studio based in leafy Chorleywood (just 1 mile from the M25 and 30 mins from central London). Expect a fantastic opportunity to build a career that goes beyond the standard CAD tech role.

Designing socially cohesive public realm that encourages recreation, play, skateboarding, BMX and MTB riding, free running as well as just hanging out, this innovative design agency work with both councils and architects on youth and community projects as well as urban regeneration schemes. Their mission is to create a more active public realm that excites, engages and inspires the community around it. Due to ever larger and more diverse projects on the horizon they are now seeking a skilled CAD Technician / CAD Designer to join their talented team consisting of architects, artists, engineers and businessmen as well as skaters, riders, parents and youth workers.

Joining as the CAD Technician / CAD Designer you will be responsible for all construction related output and document control on every job from inception to completion. Whether you are producing CAD drawings to a high standard, being encouraged to get involved in site surveys, managing fee proposals, monitoring budgets, attending meetings or playing an integral role in the design process, it will be your flexibility and willingness to get stuck in that ensures outstanding results.

We will consider all applicants, from strong graduates through to experienced seniors. For the right person, there is an opportunity to move up through the business and become part of a dynamic and expanding design team.

To qualify…You could be a CAD Technician / CAD Designer / Graduate Designer / Urban Designer / Landscape Architect / Space Planner / Junior CAD Designer or similar, we don’t mind, your CV just needs to demonstrate:

  • Strong 2D AutoCAD skills;
  • An interest in social cohesion and a passion for the public realm;
  • A good understanding of landscape construction / civil engineering;
  • You are a creative thinker with the ability to bring fresh ideas and a can do attitude to the design process;
  • Excellent communications skills;
  • A highly organised approach and excellent attention to detail;
  • A willingness to travel regularly in the UK and abroad if required.
Any knowledge / experience 3D modelling and renders (3DS Max, Rhino, V–Ray) would be a strong advantage. Experience with Adobe Suite particularly Photoshop and Illustrator would also be useful.
