An Android Developer / Mobile Developer is needed to join a digital product studio who specialise in mobile app development. Working from their HQ in Newcastle, expect to be involved in unique concepts and innovative projects that mould the future of mobile apps.

Due to continued success they are now seeking an enthusiastic Android Developer / Mobile Developer to join their dedicated team.

Working closely with a dynamic and creative team the Android Developer / Mobile Developer will be involved with planning, designing, scoping and supporting mobile app projects. Utilising your Android expertise and communication skills you will shape new innovative digital products whilst having a pivotal say in the future of the company.

 
To qualify… You should be an Android Developer / Mobile Developer / Mobile App Developer / App Developer / Java Developer / Software Engineer or similar with a CV that demonstrates:

  • Strong problem solving skills and enthusiasm for programming;
  • Strong Object Oriented design knowledge;
  • Knowledge of common data structures and algorithms;
  • The ability to apply SOLID principles;
  • Android application development experience using Java, Android SDK / APIs / Frameworks, and Android Studio;
  • Experience with using Web APIs (REST, SOAP, RPC);
  • Knowledge of Android libraries including Retrofit, RxAndroid and Butterknife;
  • An understanding of the MVC/MVP architectural patterns;
  • A record of releasing Android apps to the Play Store.
An understanding of Agile methodologies (TDD, continuous improvement etc.) would be advantageous as would any experience or exposure to JavaEE and/or Spring Framework and ORMs such as Hibernate and/or EclipseLink, knowledge of different database platforms (MySQL, Postgres, etc.), experience with Vagrant and containerization platforms like Docker and guiding and mentoring junior developers.
