If you’ve ever found yourself wishing you had more time off at work, then you’re definitely going to think working at Basecamp sounds like heaven. In fact, the CEO of this small web development company says he wants to offer employees even more perks—but he struggles to think of new ones, because anything they could want has likely already been offered to them.
“I’d love to continue to give more and more things to make people happier and more comfortable, I’m just running out of ideas for it.” Basecamp CEO Jason Fried said.
Here’s the deal: Every Basecamp employee is entitled to a generous salary, health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time-off. But the company takes things a step further, also offering its workers a £4,000 annual holiday fund, £80 a month for fresh produce, £80 for home massages,16 weeks of paid parental leave, and tenured sabbaticals every three years. If that’s still not enticing enough, they also work four-day, 32-hour weeks during the summer months.

Fried goes on “Go enjoy the weather, go enjoy the weekend, go on vacation, It’s really about distancing yourself from this trend of being always on, always working.”
